Jumping start to this bloody week: have put together a working biography of no less than 15 flashy titles for my Middle Eastern Security Issues essay numero zwei. Also purchased 1 x fairly inexpensive edited book with the flashy title “Islam and Global Dialougue”. Fancy.

Have been invited to take part in awesome five week seminar on religion and its origins on site at the University of Galilee this summer. Price: $2,850 for tuition fees and another $4500 for other costs. Me says Thank You But No Thank You. Baaaahhhhhh. :( *sob sob sob*

Any of you rich bitches wanna lend me a hand here? When the apocalypse is nigh I will be the best person to help you and if you give me $6000 I promise I will do my outmost to sort you out. You will NEVER get a better deal than that! Please contact me personally for details on where to send the cheque (unfortunately unable to take credit cards but thanks for asking…).

Achhh, never mind.

This day will be a library marathon. O is coming over in a bit to have coffee but that’s about how fun it’s gonna get. Ohhh, until 9pm that is… Mondays=GLEEEEEEE!!! hurray!!!

Need a haircut something crazy bad. Look like troll. Look like troll with no taste, money or hairbrush. Me sad for looking like troll. Want look like fairy. Me no look fairy… wear pretty hats instead.

translate

Had a bit of an epiphany the other day: I’d like to be a translator! Translate English to Swedish and Swedish to English.  For books and stuff. Love English, love Swedish, love books. How I have not spotted this equation earlier I do not know but hopefully I’ll be able to do something about it now.

fun!

Spent the night at Anna’s, was lovely: we drink extremely luxurious vintage bubbles, watched high-culture tv and ate my homemade smorgastarta (if you don’t know it just play along!). I was kind of happy with the tarta, it might have been a wee bit on the mayonnaise:y side of things… lesson learned for next time! Very surprised of how well it kept on the tube from Leyton though, the only damage was a few wayward grapes, which is perfectly acceptable!

Now: in library. Really freakin’ bored with this crappy Saddam Hussein-fellow, he did a lot of not very nice things, you know. Bit of a bastard, really. (my three years of middle eastern studies at university level obviously paying off!) I’m morally disgusted by the UN sanctions, seriously poor policy making!!!

Aaaanyways, I’m gonna go home. Apparently Carel-poop has made soup! (oh yes, I intentionally wrote that! :P ) hope everyone had a good weekend, Chaow Chaow.

breaking my heart

Oioioioiii,  not working at Big Chill anymore, last night was the last shift :( Weird, been there for 3,5 years – almost 1/6 of my life! No choice though, have to have to have to study on the weekends now. The beloved security team (well, everyone really) misunderstood and thought I’d be working my last shift tonight so everyone was really shocked and sad, haha! Nice to know that one will be missed! I’ll miss them too… gosh, I love those guys…

Otherwise, nothing new under the sun. Checking my e-mail inbox 4000 times everyday for notice on some-of-you-know-what but so far nothing. Mentally preparing for not getting it, I find being generally negative reduces the amount of negative surprises in life… still a little tiny sliver of hope somewhere deep inside my heart though…

Have a good weekend, peeps!

Hoping this will be the dress I get for my uniform at Cath Kidston, would be lush! I’m gonna wear it all day every day :)

long day

Finally home! Freakishly long day, with way to many different happenings for my slow brain to follow!

Started with work at Cath Kidston, little bit early (9 am!!! jikes!) but great to be back, the colleagues are hilarious and really sweet (feed me with muffins, for one thing!). Have heard rumours we will be given “uniforms” from the new collection in a few weeks… me likey! I will wear mine 24/7 :)

Went on to to a bit of school work and some black boards for a pub in whatever the heck that area around Bond Street is called… it’s completely slipped my mind but it was somewhere around there, the only name that enters my brain is Fitzrovia and I know that’s not it… Am an awesome tourist guide, truly!

Dying for overcooked pasta with pesto and goat cheese with a bit of Turkish chilli-ketchup… yum.

Holy Moly, awake and out of bed all ready. Felt an urge to blog about it just to prove it’s true :)

Going to work, Cath Kidston during the day, a black board job in the evening, if I can I will try and make it to the girls’ cocktail night otherwise I’ll have to go to the library again (do I love it, do I hate it… not sure…) so another awesome day of funness in other words.

Have quite a bit of anthropology left to read for tomorrow so might have to skip the cocktails and head for the books. :( Pity myself.

Yeah yeah yeah.

Have realised I should have bought a men’s outdoor coat, they sit better and are made for longer legs. Remind me in October when I start complaining about the cold, say: Buy a Mens’ Coat, K… buy a MENS’ COAT.

Oki, bye.

overcomed

Gahhhh! Feel a tiny-winy bit overcome with general overcomed-ness.

Effing hell, trying to keep a happy blog (no one wants an Un-sunny side view!) but it is really piling up now. Work work work. Have managed to double book again, forgot about a cocktail night with the girls on Thursday and promised I would work. Same thing on Sunday. I have a calendar, don’t understand how this can happen.

It’s just a phase, but still. Can’t wait until next monday, feels like I can start over again then. Ahhhhhhh.

Valentine

Valentine’s is coming up, fantastic! Me liking Valentino because Carel-poo is mucho crazy and comes up with crazy funny things to do! Last year he woke me up with hearty coffee:

(we don’t have a milk frother so the foam on this baby is rather impressive… or worrying!)

Then he gave me flowers, bubbles, chocolates and all sorts of goodies and then he dressed me warm, hung a handbag on my arm and marched me to the tube without saying where we were heading. We went to Kew gardens, it was lovely. I love parks and the weather was brilliant.

We finished with a pub meal in Kew, it was yummy. I rediscovered baked camembert there. Yumyum.

I’m not very much for fancy stuff, me and Carel were discussing it yesterday when we had a Chicken Cottage take away on the bus; why pay ridiculuous money when the cheap food is usually yummier? I love crap-food! For Valentine’s this year I’d like to go to the O2, have some Spur-steaks with Dom Pedro for desert and maybe watch a movie at the cinema. Keepin’ it real, as it were.

btw. I’ve completely grown sick of my fringe, don’t want it anymore… how to make it grow?

If I had a rottweiler, and other revolutionary stories

Was out for quick run in the Autumn-style weather we have today. I like it when it’s windy, a bit rainy and about 3-4 degrees, ideal Karin-weather. Problem with the running track is that at night it’s full of serious runners (not like me who drag my feet around the track once or twice then collapse in a raspberry-bush) and during the days it’s full of unemployed dog-owners and their very suspicious looking dogs.

I’m not scared of dogs, they’r more of an annoyance than anything. (Ooooh, except for German Shephers – they evil. They’re the Devil’s Dogs. All the nazis had German Shepherds, FACT!) Dogs love me, maybe it’s the lingering bunny-smell but they come running as soon as they see them. Today I was helping some fat chain smoking dude with tattoos on his face exercise his bull terrier (btw, is that the ugliest animal in the world or what? absolutely no condoning features…) by having the dog running after me as I shuffled along. The owner sat on a bench smoking rollies.

I wish I had a dog. I would have  a really big one, like a Rottweiler. I think they look really nice and apparently they’re fairly easy to teach good behaviour. I don’t know. Mainly I would just have it to scare the smaller dogs, like pitbulls and bull terriers. I would use my Rottweiler to teach them to poo in the bushes on the side of the track, not ON the track. Alternatively, I would send my dog on the bull terrier owners so that they learn to pick up their dogs’ poo. Yeah, then I would walk down the high street with my Rottweiler and yell at the hoodies “pull your trousers up young man, you’ll catch your death from cystatis walking around with your buns out like that”. Yeah, that’s what I would do if I had a rottweiler.
